IED Awareness for First Responders

This one day programme has been designed to give delegates an understanding of both the history of terrorism, as well as the factors that drive people to resort to terrorist activity. A key part of the training also focuses on examining the differing methods and devices that terrorists may employ to achieve their aims.

The training also examines the steps an individual or organisation can take to attempt to identify the level of threat they might be facing, and explores what steps you can undertake to counteract and reduce this threat.

Throughout the course we will examine:

  • The history of terrorism and it’s affects
  • What is an Improvised Explosive Device
  • The different types of explosive devices and methods that terrorists employ
  • Contingency and emergency planning
  • Threat assessment and management
  • Risk reduction measures to reduce the threat you face
  • The importance of incident management planning
  • Post attack or incident considerations
