HMS Oardacious

07 October 2019

Over the weekend our staff were honoured to attend a fund raising dinner in support of HMS Oardacious.

To raise funds for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines charity, members of HMS Oardacious are undertaking the challenge of a life-time by rowing across the Atlantic ocean. The journey is 3000 miles long, from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua. The team will be rowing in pairs, 2 hours on, 2 hours off, 24 hours a day, every day for around 40 days. They will face waves of up to 20 feet high, scorching equatorial sun, salt sores and seasickness in order to raise funds for this great cause.

You can find out more about the HMS Oardacious team, their challenge and how you can help by visiting their website

If you would like to follow the team on their Atlantic journey, follow the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge via the YB Races app. The live tracking will begin during the challenge in November 2019. You can also follow the team on Twitter and Facebook

To support this great cause and show your support you can donate £5 to the charity by sending NAVY OAR in a text to 70500
